About Me

Hi! My name is Megan.

I’m a cereal obsessed stay-at-home mom to two amazing boys and a gorgeous little girl. I’m laid back – almost too much, if that’s even possible.  I’m lucky enough to have married the man of my dreams and after what seems like forever – we now own our dream home in the country.  I wouldn’t change it for the world.  I LOVE it out here.  Although we’re kept busy working on and around our old farmhouse, we still find time to find pleasure in the little things in life.

This blog first started off as a way for me to keep the “happenings” of our home known to my family who live a lil’ over an hour away.  But I also saw it as a chance for me to have the opportunity to talk gardening, home and farm talk, canning – all these things that I have an interest in – and to read your stories as well.  Together I’m sure we’ll figure this all out!  But for now, stay tuned and join us on our journey of our homestead in the making.

  1. Hi Sheila, I’m relatively new to blogging. I was wondering if you could tell me how you got the “Share this” buttons for Press this, print, email, pin it, Facebook like, tweet and google at the bottom of your posts. I think I have the “like” button, but can’t figure out the “Share this” button. Thank you.

  2. I’m sorry I called you SHEILA, Megan!! I’m not sure where that came from 😦
I was able to figure out how to add the sharing buttons in a drop-down menu. I’d really like have them show up like yours do, as individual button icons.

• No worries, Hope – It happens. 🙂 In regards to the sharing buttons, when you’re at your dashboard, there is a button for settings on the lefthand side at the bottom. Click (or hover over) on it and click on ‘sharing’ option. I’m thinking you have your sharing options as ‘hidden’. If you drag them over to the ‘enabled’ box, they should show up like mine. Hope that wasn’t too confusing. Here’s a link that might offer better explaining: http://en.support.wordpress.com/sharing/ Lemme know if it works. Thanks for stopping by!

  3. Thank you!! You were right, I had dragged and dropped under “hidden,” not realizing there was another place to drag & drop. I found a “rate this” button too while I was at it. There are so many hidden things to discover that can enhance a blog and blog posts, it’s a bit overwhelming at first. Thank you so much for your help.

  4. Happy to have found your blog! I’m a stay at home mom to a 2 year old little guy and live in Indiana. I have little to no experience in homesteading and self-sufficiency, but have big dreams!

    • Thanks for stopping by! Hope you’re staying warm thru all this winter madness! Enjoy your time home with your little one. Mine are 4yrs and 2yrs now, with one due in April. Time flies by so fast but having that time to spend with them has made so many cherishable memories…even on the bad days 🙂 Hope you find your way back again! Take Care!
